TB8
titanium alloy is new type sub-stable βtype titanium alloy being developed
during "Nine and Five"period in china,whose nominal component is
Ti-15Mo-3Al-2.7Nb-0.25. Wider strength range can be achieved through
ageing,hence is one kind of ideal aerospace structural material.This subjiect of
study adopts the said material to substitute for 30CrMnSiA structural steel to
manufacture the welding assembly of the three casting structural component on
the upper frame of load-bearing frame 65 on the rear fuselage of some
aircraft(hence achieving to mitigate 15%~20% weight),notably improving the
structural efficiency of the aircraft.

 Titanium Grade 5 is a two phase α+β titanium alloy, with aluminum as the alpha stabilizer and vanadium as the beta stabilizer. This high-strength alloy can be used at cryogenic temperatures to about 800°F (427°C). Titanium 6Al-4V can be used in welded construction at service temperatures of up to 600° F. This alloy offers its high strength at a light weight, useful formability and high corrosion resistance.
